I've been blessed to be able to combine my desire to see the world with my love of writing. Instead of creating stacks of albums full of photographs taken during my travels, I created this website. In addition to sharing some of my favorite shots with family and friends, ItchyFeetTraveler enable me to document my travel experiences. This site also serves as a warm reminder to me of the places I've been.
I live with my husband in Potomac, MD, a suburb northwest of Washington, DC. I love the outdoors regardless of the time of year. In the winter I look forward to skiing especially in Colorado and Utah. I play tennis year round.
One of my passions is meeting new people and learning about other countries and cultures. In my international travels I look forward to tasting local dishes, experiencing indigenous cultures and touring sites both ancient and new. As a licensed tour guide in Washington, DC, I delight in sharing some of America's history through the monuments, memorials, museums and other historic attractions around our Nation's Capital.
I'm often asked what is my favorite of all the places I've been. My answer is always, wherever I'm going next. Even though I've been to all seven continents and nearly 40 countries, I'm always excited about my next adventure whether it's to a local museum to see a new exhibit, across the pond to tour a centuries old castle on a hill or south to explore Inca ruins. I look forward to discovering the world near and far each time I leave my house.
I strive to embrace and live by my favorite quote by Saint Augustine - "The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page."
